Post-Graduate Travel

How to travel smartly, safely, ethically, and independently after college.

Choosing a Type of Travel

There are many different ways to travel! Those can range from traveling solo or in a group, traveling for an event or for work, and many more. This section will focus on three larger umbrellas of travel experiences, which will help answer the question: what kind of trip would a post-grad like to take first?

  • Leisure: This encompasses travel done just for fun! This page covers what kind of planning such a trip entails, as well as how to understand how tourism affects the places being visited.
  • Teaching & Working: Opportunities to travel can come in the form of work opportunities, particularly in countries outside the United States.
  • Voluntourism: A travel option that combines volunteering and leisure, yet has ethical concerns worth taking into account.

Remember: Some people have preferences and others don't, so always keep the fact that people will have personal biases in mind when asking for advice and tips from fellow travelers or while looking at travel blogs.
